Poem written 04.22.2023

I’ve heard thundering planes today

Mother Earth is crying

I’d like to cry with her

Dance in her tears

Because the river is watching us

Anoint her beds with oil

Watch it runneth over

Until all that we may guzzle

Is technicolor methanol

Let the sun fall through the sky

As we bask

We bake

And it will be too late

Once we’ve realized the weight

Of what we have done to our mother.
